1991

1991

I believe this was the year Angie somehow ended up on an interesting indoor soccer team.  I don't even remember how she got on it, but the sponsor spent some money on them!  They weren't that great of a team, but at the end of the season, he had them picked up in limos and took them to a very fancy dinner at a very expensive restaurant.  Some time later we found out he embezzled from his company and was arrested.
This was Tim's CYC volleyball team.  They were a pretty good group with potential.  Then a bunch more kids signed up the next year and I had to split up the team---thanks to the athletic association.
Piano recital time again.  They had 2 recitals a year.
Loved hearing them play!

Angie also had a picture chosen for an art exhibit at the Art museum.  If I remember correctly, you had to purchase the picture back---a clever fund raiser, of sorts.
The girl scout troup at summer camp.  We actually rented a 2 story cabin at the scout camp.  Sure beats camping in a tent.
Angie dressed up as an indian

summer fun at Johnson Shut-ins.  A really neat river with a lot of boulders in it.  But there's a nice pool of water in the upper part of the rocky area.

Nearby was Elephant Rocks.
Ken and Tim would go to scout camp (in tents) every year around the 4th of July.  I think Ken enjoyed it more then Tim and continued to go camping even after Tim dropped out of scouts.
Ready for a hike
Their camping set up---not my idea of a fun time!
Halloween.  Angie went as a bee.
Tim was a pirate.
We had a particularly icy spell that winter.  There's a gentle sloping hill not far from our house, so I took the kids there.  Even though it wasn't steep, the ice made them slide almost a block.
bit of a treacherous walk back up the hill, but they had fun.

Here is the lot next to our house---looks like snow, but it's about 8 inches of ice!
I actually went out and bought the kids ice skates so they could go right out our front door and skate.  The ice lasted at least a month.
North American Martyrs always use to do a play at Christmas.  This year Angie was chosen to be Mary
The other girls from her class.
Mary and Joseph.

Oregon----1980-1993

1980 When the St. Louis summer got exceptionally hot, I said it's time to head to Oregon!  So we did! This was probably the trip when ...
