1983

Ken's birthday and the cake I made to look like his old car

Hummmm, Ken doesn't look too happy.

Such a cutie

Ken had a convention at Lake of the Ozarks, so the kids and I joined him.  We had a blast playing in the pool.  More places ought to use balls like this to hold the heat in!  But I guess it would be a safety problem---you never know if someone had drowned.

We spent a lot of time at the pools---whether on vacation or at our outdoor community pool in the summer.
Angie with some of our home grown irises.  I used to have quite a bunch of them.  I wouldn't know anymore since we're never there anymore when they bloom.
Angie always did like make up.  Fortunately she has learned how to apply it much better then this over the years.

There is a 6 flags about 30 miles from our house, so the kids and I would often go there.  Then they got older, we use to get the family passes and I'd drop them off there for the day.  Sometimes I would stay and wander around by myself.  It was always landscaped so nicely.

a couple great kids!

the annual UE Watermelon Festival.  Loved it!!!!

They had a pretty neat play ground there, too.
This would have either been a Cardinal game, or the circus.

OREGON

a trip to the Japanese Garden in Portland.

It can still be cold there, even in the summer.

army fisherman Tim
There use to be a neat little Trolley that would go up and down through Lincoln City.  Not many people used it!  Even we only used it but a couple times.
tim fishing at Devil's lake by Lincoln City  on the coast.
Pretty nice lake.  And so close to the ocean.
Another sunset on the beach.
The guys and their fishing catches
The kids warming up their feet in the hotel at the coast
Back to Grandma and Grandpa's house and the kids picking up sticks
Grandpa coloring with the kids.  Too bad we couldn't be around Grandma and Grandpa more often!

I've always loved Lucky Charms so when I found this sweat shirt, I had to get it!

Back in those days, their Grandma LaBeaume worked at the National in Florissant not too far from our house.  So when we found out she was going to be in costume, we had to go see her.
one of my all time favorite pictures of the kids playing merry go round with Petey.
I could always count on Sesame Street to keep the kids and their friends entertained for a couple hours every day.
